CMC in the cosmetic industry


On the basis of the regulations concerning the quality demands issued by United Nation's Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) and World Health Organisation (WHO), the European Committee has sanctioned the use of CMC, under number E 466, by the food industry in the Common Market countries.
The FDA in the USA has assigned GRAS status (General registerd As Safe) to CMC identified as "cellulose gum": (FDA 21 CFR 128.1745).

A selected range of CARBOCEL® AM cellulose gums meets the purity criteria specified by:
