Guar gum derivatives

Guar gum derivatives

Guar Gum is obtained from the ground endosperm of the guar plant, Cyanmopsis tetragonolobus belonging to the family Leguminosae. The guar gum molecule has a very good chemical reactivity, thus resulting a very versatile base for the preparation of a lot of worthwhile derivatives.
Chemical modifications are intended to enhance the solubility of the macromolecule, and to impart some very peculiar behaviours in aqueous solution, according to the needs of the particular final applications. For COSMETICS Lamberti has developed high purified derivatives which can be used as conditioning agent and/or thickeners in liquid soaps, shampoos, skin care formulation.
