Moisture-cure polyurethanes
Moisture-cure polyurethanes are single-component coatings or adhesives that react with ambient humidity or surface moisture to initiate curing. Isocyanate groups interact with water to form highly crosslinked urea linkages, progressively building a three-dimensional polymer network that results in a durable, flexible and chemically resistant film.
Designed to simplify application by eliminating mixing steps, these systems reduce process complexity while offering excellent surface tolerance, including reliable performance on damp substrates and curing capability at temperatures as low as −5 °C. The resulting coatings provide long-term durability, strong corrosion protection and abrasion resistance, together with sufficient flexibility to accommodate substrate movement without cracking. They are widely used in high-performance floor coatings, as well as in structural adhesive and sealant applications..
