For more than 20 years of technical leadership and experience in the manufacturing, development and marketing of high quality waterborne polyurethane dispersions, Lamberti has obtained an extensive market reputation as innovative world wide partner that develop high value solutions for finishing and improving many customer applications.
Through synergy with customers and close cooperation with R&D Departments, Lamberti provides tailor made solutions for diversified applications. Waterborne polyurethane dispersions cover high value applications like leather finishing, coatings for wood, metal and plastics, paper and textile surface modification
Lamberti polyurethane technology is internally strengthened by a close collaboration of the synthesis department together with the engineering and the applications laboratories.
The Lamberti polyurethane dispersions offer a complete solution to our customers ranging from film formers & binders products to thickening and crosslinking agents.
We develop new waterborne polyurethane solutions with a special commitment to reduce environmental impact both in production and in application. We have a wide range of polyurethanes obtained by three different main technologies: fusion process, acetone process and prepolymer mixing process.
Recent development in these technologies has permitted to introduce into the market new Lamberti waterborne products with enhanced green and low emission of volatile organic compound (VOC), like solvent free, amine free, formaldehyde free and high solid waterborne polyurethane dispersions.
The main raw materials to produce polyurethanes can be classified into two big families: polyols and polyisocyanates.
In the category of polyols we generally choose polyethers, polyesters and polycarbonates, while in the polyisocyanates category we use both aromatic and aliphatic monomers.
Combining these raw materials with advanced industrial process, we give different properties to the end products. Generally speaking we can say that polyethers give elasticity to the system, polyesters enhance mechanical properties and polycarbonates improve chemical and hydrolitic stability. Regarding isocyanates, aliphatic monomers are more resistant to yellowing while aromatic enhance abrasion properties.
The Lamberti synthesis procedures allow to produce binders and film forming polyurethanes characterized by different functional moieties. We produce anionic, cationic and non ionic dispersions, a full range of products appreciated in several applications.
Waterborne polyurethane dispersions are employed in LEATHER applications as finishing of skins to improve surface appearance and resistance to abrasion and light.
In the COATINGS area polyurethane dispersions are employed like covering coatings protective for wood, metal and plastic materials due to their high resistance to, scratch, abrasion and solvents.
Polyurethane dispersions are used as ADHESIVES in several sectors, particularly for shoe soles, PVC coupling laminates, bags, foam, interior decoration and in automotive field.
PAPER / TEXTILE
In PAPER applications, polyurethane dispersions impart surface properties like soft touch, dry and wet scrub resistance, double folding resistance, inkjet and toner printability; in the textile and para-textile fields they are used to modify esthetical aspects as flexibility at touch.
The range of polyurethane dispersion is completed by Lamberti thickening agents, associative non ionic polyurethane thickeners and Lamberti crosslinkers, blocked polyurethane dispersions and hydrophylic water dispersible isocyanates.
With Esacote® and Rolflex, polyurethane waterborne dispersions, Viscolam, associative non ionic polyurethane thickeners and hydrophylic water dispersible isocyanates, Lamberti is able to increase synergy and enhance value to customer's solutions.
