Design bridging: sustainable collaboration between Italy and Korea

In Seoul, Italian design is a bridge for diversities that learn to know each other and collaborate. Design Bridging, meetings, conferences and dialogues: not only iconic products, but technological skills, innovation of materials and processes for interior design, construction, packaging.

The meetings organized by the Italian Embassy in collaboration with the ICE (Italian Trade Agency) and the Italian Cultural Institute, are focused on sustainability, circular economy, use of new materials, innovation of products and processes. The aim is to promote greater attention to the composition of materials used for everyday design and to the quality and to eco-sustainability of products and their use cycles.

South Korea, in the last 35 years, has projected itself with speed and depth towards development. It is a nation that is always connected but at the same time based on the values of the oldest tradition.

Italy in South Korea is not only brands and products but a desire for knowledge of know-how and tradition, it is an expectation of innovation in style and technology.

The Italian Ambassador in Seoul Federico Failla spoke about it on the occasion of this year's Design Week: “Between Italy and Korea it is possible to work combining training, research and production. We need to go beyond the concept of distributing and selling products in foreign countries; it is necessary to build common cultural and innovation paths

We are proud to be part of the panelist to represent and support the excellence of the innovation, research and skills system throughout.
