Chemistry among students

Our commitment towards local students

The experiments

Lamberti group has been collaborating for years with the communities of its territory to make our activities known and debunk the myth that chemistry means pollution and danger.

We believe that good chemistry is essential for our life and that of future generations

With this in mind, we want to spread the culture of good chemistry among the new generations by stimulating children's curiosity towards science and its applications, bringing some of our chemistry into schools, and showing how it is indispensable, useful and fascinating.

From 4th to 8th April, 2022 we met seven classes of the Dante Alighieri’s Secondary School in Gallarate facing basic concepts and experiences of our chemistry and products. Together with the students, we first prepared a solution of sodium carboxy-methyl-cellulose. Separately we have experienced how an insoluble and immiscible product in water such as sodium stearate can be emulsified thanks to a surfactant. Finally, we have combined the two abductees to produce colorful slimes that, joyfully, we played with.

Leonardo C., math and science professor:

"Opening the school to external contributions allows students to better understand the meaning of their everyday studies. Their amazement and constant questions confirm that we are on the right path.

For us teachers, it's essential to participate in these laboratory initiatives to widen our school program and enrich our competencies."

Cristina D., Lamberti QC Manager:

"There is a moment when the students carry out the experiment, in which their faces light up, and they become aware of the phenomenon taking place under their eyes: this is my favorite moment! They realize that what they have learned has real application and produces visible effects.

I like to think that I have sown a little piece of my passion for science in each of the children I have met."

I understood that the world of chemistry is very complicated and precise, but at the same time fascinating. (Tommaso Z.)

It was very nice to feel like young chemists, guided by those who know much more than us. It has always fascinated me to experiment and discover new things. I hope it never stops. (Marta C.)

Chemistry is in everything and everyone (Giulia S.)

I couldn't think that, in just two hours, I could feel so many emotions for science. (Leonardo M).

I learned that you don't work alone in chemistry, but you have to work as a team. (Riccardo S.)

I hope that chemistry can help us preserve our planet in the future. (Daniela M.)
