Lamberti Group’s Fiorano plant is immersed in the ceramics district and is completely dedicated to it, including a production unit and the main divisional technological center. Living in a manufacturing district brings out the link with the territory in a natural and strong way, made up of people with whom you work, and helps each other, where families find their space and raise children. Precisely to these, we wanted to address through cooperation with PGS Smile, support which, although limited compared to the great work that this Association carries out every day, wants to continue on an ongoing basis also in the future.
Focus on young people
PGS Smile A.S.D. Formigine is a free and apolitical non-profit association set up with the specific purpose of promoting and spreading the practice of sports at an amateur level, engaging in the development of volunteering. The activity is mainly aimed at children and young people, and sets objectives of aggregation and growth at an individual and group level, as a response to the emerging needs of the territory.
There are about 900 members divided into:
- 16 football teams (9 from the football school)
- 8 basketball teams
- 13 volleyball teams
- 1 free volleyball team for special boys and girls with some disabilities
- 1 soccer team for special kids, in collaboration with TSM
- 1 team of ultimate frisbee
In 2004 PGS Smile built a multipurpose gymnasium in which multiple sports activities take place, it manages 2 municipal gymnasiums and a natural turf soccer field. In collaboration with the Parish of Formigine, in 2011 it created the new sports center called San Francesco, a large and important place made for young people and for sport, based on the values that have always distinguished PGS Smile and which includes sports facilities, changing rooms, classrooms, meeting, and refreshment areas.
PGS sport philosophy
Giuseppe Bandieri, a member of the board of directors of PGS Smile of Formigine, told us: "The 2022-2023 season sees strong growth in participation in all disciplines. It's very nice that after the years of the pandemic, this desire emerges from our kids to find each other again, to be together again, and to feel part of a group. Sport, if lived well, is just this: a path that helps us face life, bringing out, with sacrifices and sweat, the best of ourselves for the good of the whole team.
This is the sport we believe in, where educational purposes take priority over sporting ones because what matters to us is the complete growth of the girls/boys from a physical, human and spiritual point of view.
This year we are also celebrating the 50th anniversary of our association, and it is wonderful to experience this moment with so many boys and girls who want to get back into the game, with the awareness of being an important point of reference for them and their families."
