A training session dedicated to industrial emergency management
Reading time: 1 min
As part of the training and preparedness activities required by legislation on the prevention of major accident hazards (Italian Legislative Decree 105/2015 – “Seveso III”), a training session dedicated to industrial emergency management was held on Saturday, 13 December 2025, at the Lamberti plant in Albizzate.
The initiative forms part of the preparation process for a full-scale industrial accident exercise, coordinated by the Prefecture of Varese and scheduled for the first half of 2026.
The exercise will involve the production site, local authorities, and the residents of the municipalities of Albizzate and Solbiate Arno.
The training day was attended by the Varese Fire Brigade, the Civil Protection units of Albizzate and Solbiate Arno, and the Local Police, with the support of the Mayors of the involved municipalities. Their participation highlighted the importance of cooperation among institutions, emergency services, and industry in ensuring effective emergency preparedness.
During the session, Lamberti’s management and site safety representatives presented the regulatory framework, potential risk scenarios, and the Internal Emergency Plan, outlining the procedures and measures adopted to prevent and manage industrial incidents.
The Fire Brigade then illustrated the External Emergency Plan, focusing on the coordination of emergency response operations and providing key behavioural guidelines to be followed in the event of CBRN incidents (chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear).
Overall, approximately 25 operators from the various organisations took part in the initiative, which represented an important opportunity for training and dialogue aimed at strengthening preparedness, coordination, and response capacity within the local civil protection system.
Initiatives such as this confirm the shared commitment of industry, institutions, and emergency services to ensuring safety, transparency, and protection for the community, reinforcing a strong and effective partnership for emergency management.
