A Shared Journey Toward Energy Responsibility

When you decide to take sustainability seriously, you don’t start with a certificate. You start with people. With commitment. With a vision of what your company can be—responsible, forward-looking, and ready to do the hard work.
At Lamberti, our journey toward ISO 50001 certification didn’t begin with a requirement. It began with a choice. And today, we’re proud to share that our sites in Albizzate, Zanica, and Viguzzolo have officially been certified for excellence in energy management.
This ISO standard is not as widely known as others—but its impact is unique. It focuses on how organizations measure, track, and improve energy performance over time. It’s technical. Demanding. And very real.
"We realized that without a structured system, we risked losing the gains we had made in energy efficiency. And that simply wasn’t acceptable to us.
What sets ISO 50001 apart,is that it’s all about the numbers. No qualitative assumptions—just data. That makes the results tangible and trustworthy."

The certification process was intense—and deeply collaborative. Corporate functions, including HSE Corporate, worked hand in hand with plant teams. Energy consumption wasn’t just something to monitor. It became something to understand, to question, to improve.
“We didn’t just pull data, we learned to read it. To ask: what does this mean? What can we do differently?” Francesco Terracciano (Zanica)
“Every new investment now includes an energy evaluation, we don’t just say, ‘Does it work?’ We ask, ‘How well does it use energy—and what can we do better?”
Stefano Cottica (Albizzate)
One of the most powerful outcomes wasn’t written on the certificate—it was felt inside the teams: the rhythm of monthly Energy Team meetings.
The sense of ownership.
The pride in every percentage of energy saved.
Seeing the results, month after month, motivates people. You realize: what I do matters. It makes us faster, more aware, more confident in our decisions
Stefano Ferretti (Viguzzolo)
Today, ISO 50001 helps us monitor day-to-day operations and detect inefficiencies in real time. But it’s also a launchpad for something bigger.
We’re currently extending certification to all Italian sites. In parallel, we’re developing our corporate decarbonization roadmap with concrete actions:
We didn’t choose ISO 50001 for visibility, we chose it because we believe in building something that lasts. And that’s only possible with method, data, and people you trust.
Igino Antonaci, Project Leader
At Lamberti, sustainability is not a trend. It’s a shared responsibility.
And it’s already happening—one smart decision, one committed team, one certified step at a time.
